Dear friends,

Short Encounters’ 2nd film festival live event was concluded on the 14th of May, 2023. With a number of 71 short films screened during the main competition programme, visiting artists and friends from all over the world had the chance to exchange ideas and discuss their work, the importance and future of Cinema. Interviews, Q & A sessions and much more, took place during screening breaks as well as during the Closing Ceremony, which was coloured by the presence of 2021 edition's award winner music composer Kim Nyberg, filling the atmosphere with his wonderful music. We all had a wonderful experience, not only during the screenings inside the movie theaters but also afterwards, at local cafes and pubs where the night went on, with nice “cinematic” companies. With our second event we set the basis for the future of our up and coming film festival, building communication bridges with creators form Europe and of course the rest of the world.
