May 26, 2021Unstad is a small village in northern Norway, with only 14 habitants, a farm and a café. Yet, hundreds of thousands of people visit here every year. A diverse community of multiple nationalities is blossoming and growing exponentially. They all share a common interest - surfing. A sport usually associated with warm southern climates is thriving here. Kristian Breivik discovered the spot in 1988 and has been surfing here ever since. Now he is running Lofoten Surf Center and is seen as a founding father in the community. He has seen the community grow from nothing to thousands and wants to keep the surf tradition alive and well through generations to come.
